We invariably see the potential pathways of other's lives more clearly than our own.

This is a feature, not a bug.

You’ve been wearing a mask your entire adult life. Why resist now?

When change arrives, it doesn't ask for permission to kiss the ring of gatekeepers or old belief systems.

It brushes them aside.

Remember this if you wish to rise above convention in society.

If you are not naturally edgy, no point in trying to
express yourself as such.

Just be honest instead.

That's edgier than what most of your readers can afford to be.

The purpose of intuition isn't to lead me to positive or negative outcomes.

It exists as a mechanism to lead me to uncover hidden pathways, which otherwise I’d happily rationalize myself away from.

When ppl say break the rules, not the laws, it's nonsense.

If you ever push the envelope of 'rules', let alone, rip it apart, you'll cross many lines of inane man-made laws.

Don't be naive about how it works.

Rabbit Holes, Risks & Desires

Inverted symbols aren’t about what’s dark and negative.
‍
They are a representation of popular truths actually being inverted in reality.

Rabbit holes are like entering a Portal. It’s why you cannot just crawl back out of one.
‍
You need to open up another portal.
‍
But this requires a purpose greater than the curiosity which opened the 1st one.

Not all risk takers are reckless.

Many are well organized. It's why they feel comfortable doing it.
‍
There is tremendous upside to a well organized mind indulging in risk.

The quality of the question determines the path of exploration.

We jump into the unknown not because of certainty but because of desire.
‍
Certainty always lags behind desire.

Pursing desire can have you suffer across a rugged terrain, but pursuing certainty might just have you step over a cliff.

One doesn’t need to know it all upfront.

Without strong desires and ambition you will die inside a cocoon as a young person.

Worry about moderating after you've experienced losing control.

Otherwise it's just suppression.

If you want to feel alive, you need to feel the fear of an adventure that can end in failure.

This isn’t ‘relaxed meditation’ alive.

This is ‘fire in your belly and under your feet’ alive.

Most will adjust to the unknown, not embrace it.

Truth, Genius & Anonymity

A genius is someone who figures out what they are, and finds a way to unashamedly live it.

This isn't a society of truth.
‍
It's one where we commonly accept to give value to some notions.

And a lot of lies are valuable to us.

The increase in anonymous avatars on twitter shows that most ppl are subconsciously beginning to realize: their face represents the actual mask they've been wearing in the world all these years.

You can't become interesting by doing more "interesting" or adventurous things.
‍
You are interesting bcos of your innate values.

These values filter mundane life thru you to produce interesting thoughts.The quality of the question determines the path of exploration.

Fascinating power lies at the intersection where rage meets creativity.

Villains in movies get the best lines, revealing things which cut deep.
‍
They have no burden of signaling virtue.

Society we live in is the same. Ones w/ a clean image tell u what u can be, but crazy ones tell u who u really are.One doesn’t need to know it all upfront.

You'd like to believe you're following anonymous accounts of others, but you're just accessing anonymous parts of your own psyche.

There's nothing in following the conventional path that can help some of you figure out what you're great at.

You won't even hear a whisper of it.

It's only years of shocks & sticking to a bizarre path that starts to uncover your real genius.

Truth should be dangerous to attract individuals with courage.
‍
Crowds will dilute it to attract cowards.

Products, Serial Ideation & Access to Subtlety

The aim is not to be a clear thinker but to produce clear solutions.

These are different paths.

‘Mostly unclear’ is the state u find yourself in w/ the latter, bcos you are constantly in unknown territory.

If simplifying was easy everyone would do it.
‍
If being done truly, its a brutal process.

Life doesn’t give you access to subtlety without putting in time & patience.

Nothing dissipates the aura of an idea being brilliant faster than an attempt at implementation.

It's why people like to live in the cozy prison of serial Ideation.

Building things organically helped me switch into higher modes of optimism.
‍
A lot of intelligent ppl not actively involved in building something, degenerate deeper into cynicism.

Most ppl are conditioned by popular desires. Asking their opinion about what to build, brings more of the same.

You want something novel? Back your ability to create what can essentially filter only through you.

The day you realize it's not about freedom, but innovation within restriction, you'll get your focus right.

There is no beautiful writing process. There is no beautiful design process.

There is only the willingness of the craftsman in expressing the fragmented mess onto a screen, and then painstakingly decide..

what to throw away, what to polish, what to present, in which order.

If someone said to you, you're speaking with all the nuance of a marketer, it's not a compliment.

Uncompliance, Innovation & Dumb Money

Our world is more in need of experimenters than ppl who can show financial projections for a future that hasn't eventuated yet.

Forgive yourself for having listened to others.

The elephant in the room is that there are too many compliant people being handed capital.

Innovation doesn't happen when you're ahead in the game — you're simply protecting turf.
‍
But when you authentically express yourself in the world, and all you hear is the sound of crickets, you create new mechanisms that didn't exist, so you can now be heard.

Signaling of real value needs separating from signaling of credentials.

If you’ve found success by following someone else's framework/ narrative you’re unlikely to have meaningful insight to navigate uncertain terrain.

A lot of startup pitches are about dumb people with dumb money asking smart people dumb questions, which, beyond a point, they cannot answer.

Majority of ppl need to box you in, to feel safe while interacting with you.
‍
If your economic or material state contrasts with your competency of expression, or worse, an FU attitude, they won't know how to handle you.

Compliant ppl are unlikely to be innovative.

Yet society looks for cues to progress via the “best” minds among the employed & credentialed.
‍
The counter-intuitive thing is to look among the uncompliant and uncredentialed.
‍
They survive despite the system.

Common Falsehoods, Values & Freedom

We’re *not* the average of 5 ppl we hang out most with.
‍
We are the product of the beliefs we hold about the following 5:

Relationships, Health, Learning, Money and Authority.

The disparity between ones commercial proposition & ones innate values means a person will be stuck w/ maintaining this form of self deception.

This can happen when you get commoditized before your values have been expressed to the world.

A mask will not protect you from yourself.

Freedom extends from ability to combine discipline/ talent/ clear decision making.
‍
It's not an incentive to be given to you by others.

The quality of who you are, who you’ve become, allows you more freedom...

Amplified voice isn’t a better voice.
‍
Same goes for ideas and insight.

Being ahead of one’s time is about values more than ideas.
‍
U can alter an idea enough to get it considered, but you can’t alter values — you have to live with them.

You can’t make values palatable for others.

It means nothing to be an aspiring "_______"
‍
In your mind you should already be it, in your heart you should already live it, in your actions you should already show it.

If you're just aspiring.. you don't really exist.

It's hard to take seriously the man who sits on his throne overlooking his kingdom, reading philosophy, telling everyone else they don't have to work so hard, and that they can be rich too.

He's here to make you feel good, not to free you.

A heavy focus on strategy without understanding your own values, leaves you vulnerable to (unconscious) group adherence in your implementations.
‍
If a strategy is not an *extension* of your innate values, it cannot sustain.

Some ppl can't handle freedom. The untrained, unfocussed, get lost in it.
‍
They prefer being told what to do, not from a p.o.v. of being held captive, but for requiring help to channel & focus.

Ppl are here to learn different lessons, and restriction is a tough but good teacher.

Politics, Sanity & Preference Falsification

Religion is not a mind virus, politics is.

If a certain sentiment exists in exceedingly large part of the population, it doesn’t matter what your data shows, there is something deeper to understand.
‍
You’ll learn more about humans from this than thinking you’re smarter by constantly blocking sentiments w/ figures.

If one pursues their heart they’ll invariably find themselves in conflict, with some of the deeply embedded and unquestioned values of the cultural layer into which they were born.

The more time one spends on this planet, it becomes clear that an effective strategy is to focus on the work, and then let it connect with the ones this work matters to.

Tangling w/ ppl doesn't convince anyone of anything.

Maturity is the move from idealistic to agnostic in matters you know you can’t control.

It's not about who is more sane.
‍
It's about whether your delusion is stronger than the collective delusion of people who resist you.

Tearing down is the easy part.

To sit with the pain of complexity, to rearrange things in a way that can actually work better.. is the hard part.

Joining a tribe or mob is the easy part.

A dangerous man is the unemployed one, with time to ask questions of himself..
‍
and share his confusion with others to trigger them into questioning their reality.

Once you’ve decided to be angry, you don’t want to believe the other person may also be nuanced.

Meaning, Mimesis & Fake Progress

Unshackling billions from material poverty will open up the next Pandora's box..

Search for meaning.

How are we set up to address this rapid onset?

Glorification of success via predominantly being opportunistic, kills the spark of discovery and invention.
‍
It's why most investors encourage seeking opportunities to exploit NOW.

The future is always some other generations problem.

When stale narratives highjack our state of reality, iterative improvement starts masquerading as continuous progress...

The ones asking the most meaningful questions seem to also be the most lost in life.
‍
This is a feature, not a bug.

F*** "influence".

Focus on connecting instead. I promise you it will bear fruit in the long run.
‍
With the former you end up at the mercy of tactics.. with the latter you're free to speak from the heart.

Most advocated change revolves around things observed from comfy vantage pts i.e. this looks interesting.
‍
This is signaling; it's not about seeking change.

Real change comes from feeling the pinch so bad that u do something about it, or u suffer consequences.

The gap between ppl exceptionally good at critiquing society & those who r really good at building solutions is significant.
‍
In this gap lies the opportunity for meaningful foundations of our future.
‍
Outside this, there is 'we told u so' and building on junk paradigms.

The incapacity of a society to navigate uncertainty is closely tied in with the treatment of it's uncredentialed members as pariahs.

Without philosophy.. technology is like driftwood.

Instincts, Plans & Maps of Nothing

Exploration is about learning to ride the wave of instinct, not strategy.

Back ppl who have trust in themselves.

Don’t project your personal limitations onto them.

Most of the time these limitations are disguised as models and processes.

Ppl seem to struggle on your behalf when you're calmly confident without elaborate plans.
‍
They want you to define them in advance.

They don't realize that the issue isn't in 'not defining', but the inferences we draw in advance that f*** things up.

High degrees of certainty encourage mechanistic behavior, sending creativity into extended hibernation.

You've only learned what you have implemented.

Otherwise you’re not learning, just hoarding.

The amount of time spent figuring how to best signal to gatekeepers is divorced from the ability to develop your instincts.

More understanding and confidence is gained by following ‘immediate cues’ in one’s path, while learning to navigate better, than waste years drawing maps for what one hasn’t yet seen.

Most risks ppl wud like to take should be labelled experiments.
‍
The risk is only about going against the standard paradigm of a path or field — a narrative violation.

Lived experiences have a knack of communicating subtlety from strange places.

Whats more powerful than proactive?
‍
The ability to calmly ride out irrational fear, wait it out till the final moments, & then act with clarity.

Proactive can often be action driven by the need to keep the fear of society's judgements at bay.

Bright Souls, Adversity & Transmuting Pain

Ppl that haven’t experienced extreme adversity tend to look at the stories of those who have as entertainment.

I’ve never understood how its possible to have worthwhile relationships w/o understanding the areas in which they struggle as opposed to only flourish.

In times of darkness you may ask: Will I ever see the light?
‍
Truth is, u r being forged in fire. The light is all around you.

You just have your eyes tightly shut, to deal w/ the suffering.

Open your eyes, the light won't blind you. It's your soul shining bright.

One’s capacity to handle stress mentally doesn’t absolve the body from processing it regardless.

In times of deep adversity, having a really prominent middle finger is immensely helpful.
‍
Even if its not directed at anyone in particular, it simply being part of one's attitudinal structure helps.

I stopped writing poetry the day I realized I’d turn my dreams into regret just so I could write beautifully about it.

You might win betting against someones strategy.
‍
But you won't win betting against someones spirit.

Restriction will first break you — you’ll hate it.

Then it will mold you — you’ll hate this too.
‍
One day you wake up and realize your life has taken shape.

The process was required.

Difference between carrying scars vs gaining character is the ability to transmute pain.
‍
You don't have to go looking for pain. If you live truly, it'll show up a lot.

‍So, you have the main ingredient of growth.

Now one just has to work for everything else.

Last call for drinks

Twitter is a gold mine, yet most are standing on top of it, handing flyers out to see their carnival act in the nearest village.

Many lack the subtlety to differentiate between providing guidance vs adding unnecessary obstacles.

What doesn't make you compliant makes you strange at first.
‍
Then it makes you strong.

When in doubt or distress, and you feel forced to make short term compromises, stand by your values — don't concede.
‍
It only gets harder to stand up to false narratives if you keep compromising for temporary solutions.

Not writing for an audience is doing a favor to those who are.

Pitching is a low value signal.

The real pecking order is the difference between what you'd like to be / do in life and what you really believe about yourself.
‍
This is the disparity that ultimately matters.

Procrastination disguised as patience is a beautiful lie.

Don’t hate the player or the game.

Just learn to play better.

One sentence more for clarity or one sentence less for brevity.
